Put loaf of gefilte fish in boiling water with sugar, salt, onion, and carrot to taste. Cook for 90 minutes. Discard water and cool fish. |

In sauté pan, heat oil. Cook onion, zucchini, and pepper until soft, about 12 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 2 more minutes. Add all spices and then tomato sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low until sauce thickens slightly, about 4 minutes. Serve sauce warm on gefilte fish or room temperature. |
