Pork is one of the most commonly consumed meats worldwide. Lean pork is rich in iron, zinc, some of the B group vitamins especially, Vitamin B1 and B12. Pork with its fat trimmed is leaner than the meat of most domesticated animals, but is high in cholesterol and saturated fat. Its myoglobin content is lower than beef, but much higher than chicken.
